At our Allegion New Zealand factory, we are continually looking for ways to refine and improve our manufacturing processes. Over the past few months, we have upgraded our local electroplating process for the Legge Luxe Oil Rubbed Bronze (ORB) finish.
 

While the visible result remains the beautiful dark bronze that largely matches existing market finishes, ORB will no longer be a “living” finish. Moving forward, it will be a stable finish that does not age or develop a natural patina over time.
 

Why the change? This refinement brings significant benefits to your projects. By stabilising the finish, we can now offer vastly improved batch matching and consistency across different products and substrates. This minimises variation, ensuring you get predictable, repeatable results every time you specify ORB.
 

Looking for a finish that ages naturally? If you or your clients specifically want a living finish that will naturally patina and change over time, we highly recommend specifying our Antique Bronze (ABZ) finish instead (pictured right).
