Allegion helps Edgecumbe flood victims

Allegion partnered with Open Doors NZ Ltd by donating door hardware to some of the Edgecumbe flood victims as part of our commitment to our value “Serve Others, Not Yourself”. 

In April 2017, floodwaters surged through the Bay of Plenty town of Edgecumbe, resulting in the evacuation of the entire town of 1600 Several homes have been deemed inhabitable and a recovery programme is in place for the next six months. Up to 30 temporary homes are being built at the Whakatane Holiday Park in partnership with the Whakatane District Council, with the costs being shared.

Partnering with Open Doors, Allegion donated six house lots of Regent Leonardo door levers for homes that were uninsured. Open Doors is a family owned business, established over ten years ago, specialising in interior pre-hung doors and barn doors all over New Zealand.
