Kaibosh gets a makeover

Wellington, New Zealand (21 December, 2015) – The build up to the festive season can be a rush and we don’t always think we have time to help others.  However, the Allegion NZ Wellington crew proved otherwise by donating their Saturday, just five days out from Christmas, to help out a local charity, Kaibosh.

Kaibosh recently moved into new premises in dire need of a makeover.  Marcel Dauphin, Kevin Hartigan and Alex Lyde helped Kaibosh by painting the shop, transforming the neglected, graffiti-covered shop into a brand new space.

Kaibosh rescues food from supermarkets, produce markets, bakeries and cafes and redistributes it to community organisations such as Women’s Refuge and Wellington City Mission.

By doing this, Kaibosh achieves two things – reduced landfill and food wastage, and those in need receive quality, nutritious food.

Matt Dagger, General Manager of Kaibosh, was extremely grateful for the team’s help, truly demonstrating the spirit of Christmas.
